We have been asked to decide on a final 3 brands following up our research of the 15 brands we looked at. These will be used in our Pecha Kucha presentation. Additional to each brand I have listed is an individual blog post that are group in my categories.
I have chosen brand I feel are most important to me and fairly relevant to my current theme as well as brand I am interested in and would like to learn more about.
I have always been intrigued by the brand Gucci. It is always a joy for me to watch some of their runway shows and keep up to trend with their latest collections. Gucci have a very unique style that will always be distinct for them and I really have a passion for their clothing.
“Influential, innovative and progressive, Gucci is reinventing a wholly modern approach to fashion. Under the new vision of creative director Alessandro Michele, the House has redefined luxury for the 21st century, further reinforcing its position as one of the world’s most desirable fashion houses. Eclectic, contemporary, romantic—Gucci products represent the pinnacle of Italian craftsmanship and are unsurpassed for their quality and attention to detail.”
FALL WINTER 2016 RUNAWAY. “The collection is Renaissance arrives at Studio 54—I like to talk in more than one language. Fashion isn’t about going in just one direction; I think it’s very contemporary to have many different inspirations”
I recently stumbled upon the new winter 2016 collection and I love it! The designs and colours Gucci have used are fabulously wacky and totally up my street.
“The ready-to-wear brand Peggy Hartano embodies a definitive design aesthetic that is characterized by clean lives, bold colours as well as innovative use of fabric and construction. Its high-end offerings comprise of distinctive feminine pieces with a sensibility that speaks to the modern women”
I recently discovered this brand and I am really interested in some of her work. I love the simple but unique designs she makes. Her dresses range in different colours to fit so well with these designs and I feel the colours can be the main statement for some of her work.
Her are a couple of my favourite dresses she has designed.
As well as the bright and unusual dresses above, some of her dresses are a lot more simple and usually in all white. I feel that the dresses portray their timelessness and elegance just by having a design with no colour. I love the way she has done this and the dresses would be perfect for endless occasions.
Roberto Cavalli is an Italian fashion designer and inventor. He is known for exotic prints and for creating the sand-blasted look for jeans. He is also the founder of the high-end Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli which sells luxury clothing, perfume and leather accessories.
I have always been really interested in this designers in particular, I love the beautifully timeless dresses he designs that have appeared on so many red carpers through the year and have always caught my eye.
Here are just some of my favourite evening dresses of 2016:
I recently came across the autumn/winter 2016/17 collection and I am totally in love with some of the designs! I love how he has used the bold colours and prints that are very unique and have a distinctly wacky edge.
I especially love the love women’s wear in this collection.
Orla Kiely is an Irish fashion designer based in London. She began her career designing hats, and moved on to design work on handbags and a variety of other items including kitchenware and womens clothing.
Although she is famous for designing a variety of things I decided to further into her women clothing as part of my brand research. I love her retro, 70’s style look she has within her designs and this trend is definitely very current at the moment.
I have recently had a look at the autumn/winter collection and I really like some of the retro skirts and dresses. The retro designs and very authentic.
